We have provided below industry links which members and the general public may find useful in researching housing information.

Building Standards Department – Provincial (www.cps.gov.sk.ca/safety/building/default.shtml) This Provincial Department advises building owners, designers and constructors about compliance with the standards. The Department reviews municipal building bylaws, advises municipalities about administrative and enforcement processes, and issues building official licenses. It also accepts appeal requests from owners and provides administrative support to the Saskatchewan Building and Accessibility Standards Appeal Board.

Canadian Codes Centre (www.nrc.ca) This site connects you with the National Research Council who manages the development of codes at the national level.

Cement Association of Canada (www.cement.ca) The Cement Association of Canada works with strategic partners to expand public awareness and use of cement-based products in Canada.

City of Regina (www.cityregina.com) This is the Home Page for the City of Regina and from here you can find the departments or information on the City.

Canadian Housing Information Centre (www.chic@cmhc-schl.gc.ca) This library contents the largest information source for housing research and information in Canada. Click unto Library when you get to the opening page. CHIC is a part of the Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation.

City of Saskatoon (www.city.saskatoon.sk.ca) This is the Home Page for the City of Saskatoon and from here you can find the departments or information on the City. For Building Standards or Development questions go to the Department link and go to Community Services Department.

Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca) This site provides a wealth of information on housing for consumers and the industry. CMHC is a Federal Government Corporation.

EnerGuide (energuide.nrcan.gc.ca) This Natural Resources Canada site gives consumers information about appliances, car, heating and cooling equipment and home evaluations. Make informed energy decisions about those long-term investments.

Get It In Writing (www.hiringacontractor.com) Consumers should always get it in writing before preceeding with any construction projects. This site provides helpful information for consumers.

Home BUILDER Magazine (www.homebuildercanada.com) Is the official magazine of the Canadian Home Builders' Association. It is the major industry source for new home builders, renovators, contractors and other hands-on professionals working in the Canadian residential construction industry.

National Association of Home Builders (www.nahb.com) This is the Home Page of the Home Builders Association in the U.S. It provides a wealth of information about the industry issues in the United States and also has great consumer information on housing.

New Home Warranty Program of Sask. (www.nhwp.org) This non-profit organization provides consumer protection for new home buyers. The program is voluntary and you can check this site to see if the builder you are dealing with is a member of this Program. Home Builders’ Associations’ builders are required to be a member of an approved third party warranty provider to qualify for membership.

Saskatchewan Building Officials Association (www.sboa.sk.ca) The site deals with information for building and fire officials. The site provides links to other provinces and regulator agencies. Building Code training and inspector licensing information is available on this site.

Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (www.scsaonline.ca) The Saskatchewan Residential Construction Safety Guide can be found on this website under the Residental Guide tab.

Saskatchewan Economic News (www.gov.sk.ca/econdev) Once you reach this page go to What’s New and Business News for the latest in business activity around the Province. This Economic Development Department has a wealth of business information.

Saskatchewan Research Council (www.src.sk.ca) This organization carries out research in many fields including housing. SRC are a valuable partner to the housing industry and partner with the industry on many research areas in our Province.
